“Mental health difficulties don't define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain, and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain."
Hello, Privet!!! I'm Katya, a dedicated psychologist with a rich multicultural background in mental health from Russia, the UK and 14 years in New Zealand. I bring a wealth of international experience and qualifications to my practice, specialising in helping adults navigate their challenges with special interest in maternal mental health and life transitions.
With a philosophy rooted in the belief that helping others is a worthy life cause, I commit my life to assisting clients and people around me. Although I do not adhere to a specific religion, my approach to therapy is driven by a universal commitment to aid and empower humans.
In the therapeutic sessions, I employ a goal-directed, solution-focused approach, primarily utilising Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques enriched by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I focus is on making each session valuable and meaningful, ensuring that therapy remains worthwhile, regardless of the magnitude of outcomes.
Outside of my professional life, I’m committed to my family, enjoy staying active at the gym, and indulge in travel whenever possible. I am a lifelong learner, continually seeking the most effective and efficient strategies to enhance my clients' ability to achieve their goals, learning new cultures, life perspectives and new ways of looking at ordinary things.
